Okay, Sabino Canyon, trying not to hyperventilate here but this wedding has been a total dream come true, for many reasons. But one of our goals and dreams as a wedding photographer has been to photograph a wedding in Arizona. Why Arizona? Well, a famous husband and wife team of wedding photographers comes from Arizona and their pictures are always stunning. They are extremely talented but something we have always wonder has been, what would it be like if we could photograph a wedding in Arizona? You see, in the Arizona desert, there is this dreamy glow that you don’t get up here in Michigan. In Michigan, there are a lot more dark green trees that soak up the light and less Sabino Canyon desert dirt which reflects the light. When the light reflects of the desert soil, the effect is this almost magical elegant glow and we have always wanted to try it out for ourselves! Well this was our chance was not only could we serve two people who we love dearly, we got to do it in Arizona!
Near to Beth and John’s house is the beautiful Sabino Canyon. We were fortunate to have time after landing to scout out the desert. A quick run around the state park and we immediately found several beautiful spots to photograph them for their bride and groom portraits! Honestly, we don’t know how anyone could take a bad picture at Sabino Canyon. It was so beautiful there and we wish we had more time to hike up to the waterfall. Next time!
This has been the second wedding we photographed at an air and space museum this year. Earlier this year, we had the privilege of photographing Kelsey and Brandon at the Airzoo in Kalamazoo, Michigan. A short drive from Sabino Canyon, the Pima Air & Space Museum was just as exciting and fun as the Airzoo. On the inside, they are very similar. It was easy to forget that one step outside of Pima and we would be back into the desert and not in Kalamazoo.
With the help of Jeri from Celebrations by Design, the Pima Air & Space museum staff did an incredible job catering and hosting the wedding. The food was fantastic and the table setting as simply elegant. But the real excitement came from both the live musician and magician preformance during dessert! The magic acts were so entertaining, it was difficult not to get caught up in the entertainment and remember to keep photographing the event.
Elizabeth and John, thank you so much for choosing us to photograph your wedding! We can hardly put into words how much of an honor it has been. The wedding day was beautiful from start to finish. Thank you so much for trusting us to go to Sabino Canyon for your bride and groom portraits! Your home was so gorgeous and inviting, we can’t wait to see your new home in Scottsdale! Next November, we have a conference at Showit United in Pheonix, and we can’t wait to see you both again! The hardest part of your wedding has been picking which pictures we like best for your blog! They are all so gorgeous. Here is just a few!
