Hi everyone! We are Leidy and Josh! Thank you so much for taking the time to read about us. Leidy and Josh never planned on shooting Grand Rapids wedding photography in Michigan. But they fell into it and we are so glad we did! Together Leidy and Josh met in graduate school where we quickly became the best of friends and eventually fell in love. Through their journey together in medical school, they learned to work together during all sorts of situations. They had no idea at the time that this would be the foundation for starting our business as Michigan wedding photographers only a few short years later.
Leidy is originally from Cuba. Born and raised there she spent most of her early life learning in a world that is very different from the one she lives in today. Life in Cuba was not always easy. But the challenges she faced there has made her a more resilient person today. She moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan in high school where she excelled academically in science and medicine. Leidy is fiercely passionate in anything she puts her mind to and has one of the most irresistible smiles. Leidy has always been a hopeless romantic with a passion for photography. Becoming a Grand Rapids wedding photographer is a perfect fit for her!
Unlike Leidy, Josh has a hard time calling one place “home”. Josh’s father was active duty Army, so he moved frequently as a child. Born in Kentucky, Josh has lived in California, Florida, Indiana, and Michigan. Josh even went to elementary school in Germany before finally moving back to Northern Michigan where he attended high school. Josh then hoped around Michigan cities obtaining different college degrees before ending with a medical school in Grand Rapids where he met Leidy…
Our Early Years Together
Leidy and Josh both attended Grand Valley States University for graduate education in physician assistant medical studies. Josh first noticed Leidy when by chance, they were both placed in the same group together. On the following day of class, Leidy was running late. When she got to the lecture, there were no other available seats other than the seat next to Josh. So, she sat next to him and it was the start of their friendship.
Eventually, Leidy and Josh started studying together and a friendship between them developed. They sat next to each other in class, ate lunch together, and spent time outside of school going to movies and out to dinner. This went on for two years as friends until that friendship blossomed into love. Towards the end of medical school together they started dating. One month after they graduated, Josh proposed to Leidy on the beach in the Carribean.
Our Love Story
Leidy and Josh have been head-over-heels for each other ever since they met. Leidy has been attracted to Josh’s kind and considerate demeanor towards Leidy. She adores how Josh makes her coffee every single morning and cooks her dinner at night. Leidy knew from the start that Josh would always take care of her and love her.
Josh was immediately attracted to Leidy’s intelligence with a silly side to her personality. Deep down inside, Josh is really just a big kid and Josh as so much fun with Leidy. Josh knew Leidy was the one immediately. Josh bought Leidy’s engagement ring and held on to it for eight months waiting for the perfect opportunity to ask Leidy to spend the rest of his life with her.
Neither Josh or Leidy would have guessed that their love and attraction for each other would lead them to shoot wedding photography in Grand Rapids, Michigan just a few years after they started dating.
They both are attracted to each other’s ambition. As medical providers, they both feel strongly about helping other people and making the world a better place. And the could stop there. But through becoming Michigan wedding photographers, they can turn their passion for wedding photography in Grand Rapids into improving the lives of others.
From Medical School To Wedding Photography in Grand Rapids
Leidy and Josh are both in love with love. They love love-stories, marriage, and everything it stands for. However, Leidy and Josh noticed something once they got engaged. The social messages they were receiving were conflicting. On the one hand, people would congratulate them on their engagement. But on the other people would warn them about signing their life away with marriage and repeatedly heard, “Now that you are getting married, the fun in life is over.”
But they quickly found this not to be true. Through marriage, they learned that their life could be so much better than living life alone. Their marriage has bonded them together in life through love and to them, there is nothing more beautiful. Together they could do more good than just one person alone. So together they decided to encourage others that marriage isn’t “the end” or something bad that must be endured. But marriage is something beautiful and that true love is real. They decided to do this through the art of wedding photography in Grand Rapids.
Leidy and Josh – Our Mission
Even though they never planned on it, Leidy and Josh became Michigan wedding photographers and it has been the perfect fit. Leidy love photography, the art of editing, and sharing a couple’s love story. Josh has always wanted to run his own business, form compassionate relationships with other couples, and to show other couples how amazing their marriage can be.
For Leidy and Josh, their journey of shooting wedding photography in Grand Rapids, Michigan and beyond is only beginning. Their goal is twofold. To set an example of how awesome love and marriage is supposed to be while sharing with the world the authentic love between a couple
