This Silver Lake Sand Dunes wedding photoshoot will always have a special place in our hearts. And we have been going to Silver Lake Sand Dunes fairly often this year. But to explain what made this one special, we need to give you a little bit of backstory.
We have refrained from talking about COVID on the blog and our social media for many reasons. Mostly we didn’t want to be another voice contributing to the noise. In the age with limitless access to information, it seemed like everywhere we looked, COVID was being talked about. Sometimes good, sometimes bad, and we totally understand why. It has disrupted the lives of so many people, and our couples are no exception. But even before the pandemic, we have always wanted to be a bright spot in the lives of our couple’s.
Wedding planning alone can be tough. Juggling the logistics, the guest list, the budget, planning the engagement session, it can be overwhelming at times. Trust us, we know. Josh broke down during an event that is entirely too comical now (just ask us about the candlestick holders at our wedding and he’ll tell you alllll about it). But in the middle of all the wedding craziness, we want to be a bright spot in our couple’s day. So when our emails hit their inbox the first thought is, “Good, it’s Leidy and Josh so this next step is going to be EASY!” We have stuck to that mantra during the whole quarantine looking for the good things that have come out of all of this. Yes, there has been some good! The way the wedding community came together was absolutely beautiful. Which is exactly how this shoot for Samie and Mitch came about.
Samie and Mitch were to be married at Timberlee Hills in Traverse City in early June and like so many couples, their wedding plans had to change. And then change again…..and again. But throughout the whole ordeal, Samie and Mitch focused on what matters most. The reason for their celebration and the love for each other. So when the gathering restriction on their wedding limited their guest size, we gladly stepped aside so other family members could be there in person. And while we couldn’t be there during their wedding ceremony, we created this experience for Samie and Mitch. To us, your wedding photography is one of the most cherished memories from your wedding, and Samie and Mitch deserved beautiful portraits. They waited so long and endured so many changes in plans (like champs we might add) that we had to do something them. So with Leidy’s creative vision, she dreamed up this Silver Lake Sand Dunes wedding shoot. With the help of the incredibly talented Alyssa of Fleurology Designs and videography by our good friends Patrick and Alayna of Shore and Summit we were able to bring all the beautiful moments of Samie and Mitch’s love together, captured beautifully.
