You might think that a desert-inspired engagement session would involve a cruel sun beating down with its harsh rays, searing sands, and the air heavy with heat. But not for Teagan and Jake’s Silver Lake Sand Dunes engagement session. The sky was weas rich and full of warm spring rain while wisps of clouds danced and softened on the horizon in a dream-like ethereal shroud. The air was cool, crisp, and refreshing and if you stopped and listened to the calming silence, you could feel the stresses of the world melt away into the perfect harmony of the Earth. But at the same time, you could feel the excitement of an early spring day. The slow and steady cadence of life, blooming and awakening from the long slumber of winter into the explosion of life that is spring. The setting couldn’t have been a more perfect representation of Teagan and Jake’s love for each other as they enter a beautiful new chapter in their journey through life together.
They say that the dunes of Silver Lake are always changing. Blowing and swirling in a brutal wind and the landscape constantly recreates itself. But not for this one tranquil moment with Teagan and Jake. Silver Lake Sand Dunes stood still in honor of their desert inspired engagement session.
Teagan found us through a professor at the Grand Valley State University Physician Assistant program. Teagan is going to school to become a PA and we ourselves went to school at GVSU for the same thing. The clinical year of PA school can be intense at times, so we were incredibly grateful that her, Jake, and their sweet golden lab Rocky could make the trip to Silver Lake Sand Dunes. Their 2021 wedding at Aurora Cellar’s vineyard in Traverse City is one that we will be looking forward to all year.
