Even a stormy afternoon can be beautiful for a Michigan lakeside engagement shoot at the beaches in Holland. The moody clouds and wavy lakeshore provided the perfect blue-grey backdrop to contrast the bright joy and love that Alexis and Jacob have for each other. We had been watching the weather all day with our fingers crossed that the weather would hold out. As the night went on, a cool breeze picked up and the sky deepened to a perfect shade of dusty blue. It was the perfect fall Michigan lakeside engagement session. The Michigan Lakeshore has a totally different look on a cloudy afternoon opposed to a sunny day on the beach but it’s no less beautiful!

Have you heard of high school sweethearts? You know, those couples who met in high school, started dating, and then got married? Well, Alexis and Jacob are not only high school sweethearts, they are SUPER high school sweet hearts because they met BEFORE high school. They met and have known each other since Kindergarten! How crazy is that? We definitely believe in soulmates and Alexis and Jacob are definitely that. These two have been in a long distance relationship for 7 out of the 8 years they have been together and their feelings haven’t diminished in the slightest. Seeing them together on the beach warmed our hearts with their giggles as they snuggled up for portraits for our cameras.
