At the Stonewater Country Club wedding reception, everyone was seated comfortably at their tables. Their attention was directed towards the speaker with the microphone. Near the head table, the bride’s sister passed around the microphone to the bride’s family members. Each was asked to describe the bride in one word.
“Caring.”
“Kind.”
“Giving.”
They spoke only one word before handing the microphone to the next person.
“Loving.”
“Passionate.”
“Loyal.”
These were the words the bride’s family used to describe Janell. The people who know her the best. We couldn’t agree with them more.
Bring Families Together
When we attend a wedding, we often get 100 apologize for just about everything. Apologizes for how crazy the family is. Apologize for the stubborn uncle who won’t smile. Apologize for the niece that won’t stop crying during the ceremony. But all of these apologize are for superficial things. Things that do not make up the heart and soul of a family. Yes, every family has their nuances. But spend some time with that family and you’ll see the bond, the love, and the connection that family has for one another. David and Janell’s families were no exception. We immediately felt welcomed among their family. Josh felt like one of the guys with the groomsmen and Leidy loved her time with the bridesmaids. During the reception at the Stonewater Country Club, everyone stopped to spend a minute learning about us. Genuinely interested in what we had to say.
Saint Matthews Lutheran Church Ceremony
The ceremony at Saint Matthews Lutheran Church was one of the most heart filled we have ever heard. During the ceremony when the pastor reminded us to “Stick to the plan.” through life and though marriage. That was something that really stuck with us. Life comes at us fast and moments like our wedding day slowly fade into memory. And on our wedding day we make a promise. A promise to ourselves, to our spouse, and to our family. We vow to stay with each other in life, in love, in good times and bad. This is advice we couldn’t agree more with and have said something similar in our Timeless Relationship Advice post.
Stonewater Country Club Wedding Reception
We LOVE how the back of Stonewater Country Club reception hall is open to the golf course. Stepping out the back of the reception onto the edge of the Caledonia golf course we found the perfect spot to photograph Janell and David’s extended family. Just outside the reception is a small stone bridge facing west making it an excellent spot for sunset photos at the end of the night. And while we got rained out at the end of the night, we were excited to photograph David and Janell there. Even if it was just for a few minutes just following family formals.
Janell & David
Janell and David, thank you so much for trusting us with your big day! Your celebration was a blast. We loved how welcomed and loved your families made us feel. It was so easy to strike up a conversation with anyone. We also loved how much they loved to dance! As soon as they could get on that dance floor, they were there having a great time! We hope you both had a wonderful honeymoon in the Caribbean. You both deserve the time to yourselves. Here are some of our favorites from your wedding day! We hope you enjoy them as much as we enjoyed taking them and we cannot wait to share the rest with you very soon!
