Weddings

When you fall in love, the world feels new. It's as if everything is happening for the first time. That's why we love photographing weddings. Each wedding has us falling in love over and over again—it reminds us that there is wonder and mystery in this shared life we all build together. The most aspirational thing to us is rekindling that initial spark of falling in love. We want to give you that experience with your wedding photos, perfectly captured and forever remembered. It's here, in our journal, we celebrate your love story so all can enjoy it.

We had an adventurous evening with Sydney and Avery for their Grandfather Mountain Engagement Photos.

Avery and Sydney have been together for six years and engaged for a year. They are enjoying their engagement so they can plan their March 2023 European-style wedding in Georgia.

Grandfather Mountain is where Avery proposed, so it was perfectly fitting to do their engagement photos there. We packed our bags and traveled to North Carolina for this sophisticated engagement session. It snowed the day before their session, so the road leading to Rough Ridge Lookout was closed. Throughout this North Carolina State Park, we took their portraits at different locations. As Rough Ridge Lookout was where he proposed to Sydney, Avery was determined to reach their memorable spot since he knew how important it was to Sydney.

We were about to give up and use a different spot to complete our session when a park ranger came to the rescue. He tells us they are opening the gate to allow access to the road that leads to Rough Ridge Lookout. We only had ten minutes until the sun would set, so we hurried up the mountain and made it just in time! It was so worth the wait! The view from the lookout was breathtaking. They popped some bubbly in their vintage champagne flutes to celebrate making it to this location and their engagement. It was the perfect way to end a magical evening.

Their sweet little dog, Georgie, a Pom-Shi, joined them at their engagement photos. He reminded us so much of our fur babies, who we adore. Georgie will be making a special appearance on their wedding day!

Both Sydney and Avery wore sophisticated, classic outfits for their engagement photos. They wore muted, soft colors for their first outfit, which complemented the natural overlook of the mountains. Their second outfit change was a bit more colorful, giving a visual pop of color against the gorgeous view.

We are so excited to photograph this amazing couple’s wedding! Until then, here’s a peek of our favorites from their Grandfather Mountain engagement photos.
