What started an apple orchard engagement session turned into the DREAMIEST Nichols Arboretum engagement session! Guys, the Peony Garden at Nichols Arboretum in Ann Arbor is GORGEOUS!

Mid Summer Peonies

This summer has been a little off for us in Michigan. We just read a news report stating that Michigan has spent a full year with below average sunshine. And with just a few days remaining until the summer solstice, it oddly feels like summer hasn’t even begun.

Summer, however, was finally showing its warm sunny face the evening of Yunie and Lance’s engagement session. We had originally planned on shooting at Robinette’s Apple Orchard for the apple blossoms. But with Michigan’s summers, the apple blossoms are only here for a short time. So we had to pick a different place to find beautifully blooming summer flowers. Yunie did some research and found that the peonies of Nichols Arboretum would be in full bloom, a perfect place for a summer engagement session!

The Peony Garden was so pretty! Yunie and Lance looked amazing for their engagement session. A well-dressed couple and some flowers are all we need as photographers to be VERY happy! =)

We were amazed with how skilled Yunie was walking through the garden in those heels! They were stunning shoes and somehow Yunie managed to hike from the garden down through the woods to the water and back again. That guys, takes SKILL. Lance looked dapper in his dress shirts and was a pro at posing shortly after starting the shoot. Lance, you did good man! Serious husband-to-be points for this one!

Yunie and Lance, you guys are just the sweetest couple. It was an absolute joy to meet you both!! Thank you for driving down to Ann Arbor to meet us at the Nichols Arboretum Peony Garden! Yunie, this was a great idea. We are so happy with the way the pictures turned out! We cannot wait to see you both again and will have to pass by your store sometime soon. Your wedding in the Maldives will be a DREAM! Guys, we are so excited for you and cannot wait to hear more! For now, here are some of your stunning engagement photos!
