Grand Haven Beach Engagement

We’re still on a high from all the fun we had this weekend, which was our first weekend with a wedding this season. So how did we celebrate our first wedding weekend of 2019? With all the couples we love, of course! And our weekend started with an engagement session we have been looking forward to for weeks, Janell and David.

Janell and David are two of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet. And their chemistry together is contagious. They effortlessly fell into poses and they both had us giggling the entire time. We loved how silly they got towards the end of the session. Your laughter and joking had us smiling the whole way home.

Janell has such a relaxed and easy going touch to her emails. She was connected to us through a mutual friend of Leidy’s. We only met her and David face-to-face once for coffee, but we knew they would be fun to photograph. We planned to shoot their engagement session at Grand Haven Beach – a first for us – and that got us even more geeky photographer excited. We love to shoot the parks and cityscapes of Grand Rapids, don’t get us wrong, but there is something magical about the Michigan lakeshore. The sunset and landscape of the beaches on Lake Michigan is the perfect setting for light and beautiful engagement photos.

We joke now that this was the loudest engagement session we have ever shot. The crashing of the waves with the wind over Lake Michigan made it difficult to hear anyone more than a few feet away. But even with loud wind, Janell and David excuted their poses flawlessly.

Janell and David, thank you so much for spending the evening with us on the beach, braving the wind and chilly weather. We loved hanging out with you and hope you enjoyed your date night at Noto’s Old World Italian Dining! We cannot wait to see you both again in just a few short weeks for the wedding at Stonewater Country Club!
